About Splendora
Our beautiful city, named for the "splendor of its floral environment" in 1896, has a population of 1,683 residents, as of the 2020 census. Splendora is a vibrant community, founded by Charles Cox and the great railroad that ran through our town. In fact, Splendora was originally named “Coxs Switch” after the man and the trains that brought people, jobs, and families to our area. Splendora Founder's Day still celebrates this history with old fashioned barbeque, family games, live music, a craft show, parade, and much more.
